Cam Jones, In-Studio at Carleton University’s CKCU (February 16th)

Hosted by Charles Anthony, the show features live independent music, a progressive interview in between songs, and a call-in for fans of the program.  I am so delighted to be appearing in the New Year.

Checkout the site to get a flavour for the show.  Consider phoning in with a question or request.

And if you happen to miss the show, you’ll be able to listen to the Audioblog.

From the website:

New start time! Every Thursday night at 10PM

Charles Anthony and Aiden Mackean host bands and musicians performing live on the air in the CKCU studios with David Pratt engineering the broadcast. All musical styles are featured. Guests of various levels of experience — from professionals to amateurs — are invited.

  • live off the studio floor
  • no pre-recorded performances
  • no taped delay
  • listener participation
  • open telephone lines

This interactive show lets listeners call in and speak with the guests. The on-air studio telephone number is 520-2528[CKCU] and the area code is (613) for the long-distance listeners.

The live show is broadcast in FM stereo. The archived recordings are provided in Ogg Vorbis because it is a superior audio compression format. Compared to other formats, it compresses audio into smaller files while maintaining the same quality. As an added bonus, it is completely open-source, unpatented and free of any intellectual or commercial property rights. If your proprietary software is old and does not play cutting-edge high quality audio, learn to download the appropriate codec or get a better audio player….”
